As mentioned at the annual shareholder meeting, we were able to remove a massive, unused, oil tank from the basement and repurposed the space to accommodate storage lockers. The lockers are now almost ready for your use. If you would like to see the lockers, an “open house” will be scheduled when construction is complete in approximately two or three weeks from now. Once a date has been determined, advance notice will be given.
Forty-four (44), mostly double-stacked, lockers of varying sizes will be available for rent beginning March 1, 2017. Given the limited number and anticipated high demand, the lockers will be distributed through a lottery and offered to resident shareholders only. Lockers will be returned to the pool once a shareholder moves out of the building or elects to give up their locker. As lockers become available they will be offered in order and in accordance with a waiting list.
The Lottery: Each household that enters the lottery will be given one entry, regardless of the size of your apartment or whether you own multiple or combined units. If your entry is picked, you will be assigned one storage locker based upon your preference and availability. Before being given access to a storage locker you will be required to sign a license agreement with 200 East 16th Street Housing Corp. A copy of the license agreement will be available for viewing at the front door and also on line at http://200east.com/document-library/.
To enter the storage locker lottery, please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MYMHW62 and complete the survey. You may also visit www.200east.com and click on the survey link. All entries are due by 5:00 P.M. on Friday, February 17 and the lottery will take place on or around Tuesday, February 21. For those of you without internet access entry forms are available at the front desk. When returning the form you will be asked to sign in to confirm receipt of your entry. Lottery winners will be notified by email so please be sure to complete the survey in full.
We are excited to launch this amenity as it provides additional revenue to the building and enhances its value while also, hopefully, solving some of your storage needs.
