There have been recent questions about what can be moved in and out of the building without being subject to the “Moving In/Moving Out Rules.” To clarify the board has adopted the following guidelines:
Items being moved in and out of the building, without prior approval by management, must meet all of the following criteria:
- The item must be of a size that it will fit on the hotel cart
- The item must not weigh more that what can be lifted onto the hotel cart by one reasonably fit adult.
- Loading on and off the elevator must not require interrupting service for more than 60 seconds.
- The item must not have sharp edges or corners or anything that could damage walls, floors, the elevator cab, or injure other residents.
If an item does not meet all of these criteria the move must be approved, in advance, by the building Superintendent. Management may require that the move be done by an insured, professional mover.
Please note that it is not the job of the lobby attendants to interpret building policy. If you have questions about this policy or are unsure about a particular item, contact the Superintendent or the Lovett Company before scheduling deliveries.
